Hasaranga's Sunrisers debut will be delayed by at least one week

He is set to travel out of Sri Lanka over the coming week and speak with physicians abroad about severe pain in his left heel.
Wanindu Hasaranga is anticipated to remain out of action for Sunrisers Hyderabad for at least a week as he consults physicians abroad regarding chronic pain in his left heel.

Although Hasaranga played in Sri Lanka's limited-overs series against Bangladesh in March, ESPNcricinfo knows he did so in considerable agony. Sri Lanka Cricket's medical experts examined him and believe the pain is caused by wear on the musculoskeletal apparatus in his left heel.

SLC's doctors have encouraged Hasaranga to get more medical advice on the specific nature of the injury and how to effectively treat it. He is scheduled to leave Sri Lanka to do so next week.
He has yet to join the Sunrisers squad, and there is no definite timetable for when he will. SLC and Hasaranga will likely focus on the T20 World Cup in June, where he will skipper his national squad.
If his health requires additional rest, treatment, or rehabilitation, his return to the IPL will most certainly be delayed longer.

Hasaranga had an outstanding 2022 IPL season with Royal Challengers Bangalore, taking 26 wickets with an economy rate of 7.54. Sunrisers paid INR 1.5 crore (approx. USD 181,000) for him in the most recent auction.
Hasaranga was suspended from Sri Lanka's ongoing Test series against Bangladesh earlier this month after receiving eight demerit points for violating article 2.8 of the players' code of conduct during the third one-day international against Bangladesh. Had Hasaranga, who had recently come out of Test retirement before the ban, been unavailable for the red-ball games, he would have missed Sri Lanka's first T20 World Cup matches in June.

SLC, on the other hand, dismissed claims that Hasaranga's return from retirement was a ploy to ensure he was available for the T20 World Cup, stating that he had informed them via email on March 16 of his desire to be considered for Test cricket selection in the future, citing his improved fitness levels.
