Stobo, who won the Sheffield Shield, has been signed by Kent as an overseas cover

West Australian is the club's fourth overseas seamer, contending for two positions.
Kent has signed Charlie Stobo, a Sheffield Shield-winning seamer from Western Australia, as overseas fast bowling support for Wes Agar, Xavier Bartlett, and Beyers Swanepoel.
Stobo, 29, has 55 first-class wickets at 24.98 and has signed a contract that runs from May 20 to September 16, covering all formats of the game. Last year, the ECB revised its laws to allow counties to register up to four overseas players at the same time, with two allowed in each playing XI in the County Championship, Metro Bank Cup, and Vitality Blast.
While Stobo is uncapped at international level and has yet to make his T20 debut, ESPNcricinfo knows that he qualifies to play professionally in the UK due to an ancestry visa.

Kent were caught off guard soon before the start of the season when Cricket Australia modified the criteria of Bartlett's No-Objection Certificate, preventing him from playing in the Championship. They have since made two acquisitions to help cover for his absence, with South African seamer Swanepoel set to join the squad before of Friday's Championship fixture away to Lancashire.
Agar, who was rested for Kent's defeat to Surrey owing to a niggle, is available until the end of July, while Bartlett is still scheduled to play the first eight group games of the Blast. Swanepoel is scheduled to be available in all formats until the end of the season in late September.

"We've been keeping an eye on Charlie for a while now, and we're very pleased that we've been able to bring him on board for a significant portion of our season," Kent's cricket director, Simon Cook, said.
"We've identified that he has the attributes that will be successful at Canterbury and will add to our squad depth and give us the ability to rotate players, especially bowlers, to better manage their workloads and get the optimum out of everybody."

Stobo expressed his excitement at joining his fellow Kent students. "I'm looking forward to teaming up with a few guys I already know, being part of an Aussie takeover with Wes Agar already there and Xavier Bartlett on the way, and being a part of a talented group. I'm grateful for the opportunity to play for Kent, which represents a thrilling new challenge for me."
Kent announced in a statement that Stobo and Swanepoel will be ready for their Metro Bank Cup campaign, which begins in late July.
