The Arun Jaitley Stadium was sold out, and the spectators cheered
loudly when the captains were tossed.
Meg Lanning, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, carried on the tradition of
choosing to bat first when she won just her third toss out of nine games during
the competition. Lanning stated that setting a target was the "best chance
to win the game" in the Delhi leg of the WPL when teams batting first
have won seven of the ten games played thus far.
The Capitals selected the same lineup—three fast bowlers and four spinners—that
had defeated the Gujarat Giants in their previous league match.
Although she was "not really upset," Smriti Mandhana, the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore, too desired to bat first and asked her bowlers to "bowl good length." S Meghana was substituted for left-arm quick Shradda Pokharkar, who had not bowled in the previous match, in their lineup that had defeated the Mumbai Indians in the eliminator. Although that improves their batting, Meghna's addition forces RCB to alter their batting order; Mandhana has begun the event with Sophie Devine and Sophie Molineux.
The center wicket pitch, with even 55-meter square
boundaries on either side, is the one being utilized for the grand finale. The
host broadcaster stated that the Capitals had played two games here and won
both of them. This was the fourth game to be played on this track. The track
appeared parched, and the absence of dew in the evenings has made bowling
second less difficult than it typically is.

The Capitals advanced to the WPL playoffs by winning the
league table for the second year in a row, while on Friday night, RCB defeated
Mumbai by a mere five runs.
Before Sunday's final, the Capitals had a perfect 4-0 record versus the RCB.
