In
an ODI in Australia, Teddy Bishop makes his debut for the West Indies, who
haven't defeated the hosts since 1997.
After
winning the toss, Australia chose to bowl the West Indies.
In
the third and final match of the ODI series at Manuka Oval against the West
Indies, quicks Xavier Bartlett and Lance Morris made a comeback when Australia
captain Steven Smith won the toss and decided to bowl in the overcast
conditions.
Australia
has already won both games in the series with convincing wins in Sydney and
Melbourne. Bartlett was rested after taking four wickets in his impressive
debut for his country at the MCG, and he now looks dangerous in the predicted
seaming conditions.
Morris
was also selected despite his poor performance in his MCG debut. Josh Hazlewood
and all-rounder Matthew Short were unable to travel to Canberra due to
hamstring injuries.
With
hitter Teddy Bishop making his debut and taking the place of opener Justin
Greaves, who was sidelined due to a hamstring injury, West Indies are hoping
for a heartfelt win.
Canberra
had some morning rain, and more showers were expected for the rest of the day.
Australia,
who has won 11 straight ODIs since the beginning of the World Cup, will be
looking to carry on their unstoppable form in the 50-over format.
Since
January 1997, the West Indies have not defeated Australia in an ODI held in
Australia. Their losing run has resulted in 19 out of 21 matches being lost and
two ending in a tie.
In
their lone prior ODI in the country's capital, Australia defeated the other
team by 39 runs in February 2013.
