If Harmanpreet had won the toss and Royal Challengers Bangalore had chosen
to bat against the Mumbai Indians in Delhi during the 2024 WPL elimination
round, she would have been "very confused" about her choice.
Smriti Mandhana, the captain of the RCB, desired early runs because the score
"might start keeping low in the second innings." They don't change
from the starting lineup that faced Mumbai in their most recent group match a
few days ago.
Priyanka Bala has not played, but wicketkeeper-battler Yastika Bhatia, who was
absent from Mumbai's last match owing to sickness, has returned. Though she was
"very confused," Mumbai captain Harmanpreet Kaur admitted that she
was also leaning toward batting first.
Harmanpreet explained, "We had nice runs on the board
in the powerplay," of Mumbai's most recent innings against the RCB, which
they lost by seven wickets. However, we didn't carry on after that. We had some
solid batting in spots. We want to perform well because we have learned a lot
from the last game.
Pitch No. 3 will be used for the game. The fine-leg boundary was 50 meters,
while the square bounds were 63 and 46 meters in length.
The team that has pursued has won every WPL encounter between these two teams.
However, before this game, teams batting first in Delhi had won six of the
previous nine encounters.
