Dan Lawrence returns to Desert Vipers while on tour in England

Batting available for two Twenty20 matches between the second and third Tests: Dan Lawrence will be able to play for England again in the Twenty20 while the team is taking a break in Abu Dhabi between the Tests against India.

Lawrence was a wildcard signing for Desert Vipers who only played one match before departing for India. He was called up to the Test squad following Harry Brook's late withdrawal. Given that the series is currently tied at one wicket, he was not picked for either of the first two Tests.

Now that the team is on vacation in Abu Dhabi, Lawrence has been granted permission to play two more games for the team. Vipers are still in the running for a top-four finish and a spot in the knockout stages despite being fifth in the table.
Tom Moody, the director of cricket for the Vipers, stated, "We are thrilled to welcome Dan back to the Vipers and it is something that makes perfect sense for everyone." "The Vipers are getting a player of the highest caliber, someone who has already been a part of the Vipers setup and who can impact the game with bat and ball. This player is also hungry for match action.

"For his part, Dan is getting the opportunity for some time in the middle and, when he returns to the England fold, they will have a player who will have benefited from playing after time on the sidelines during the ongoing Test series."We express our sincere gratitude to the England team for granting Dan's request to rejoin, as well as our appreciation for his eagerness to seize the chance.

"In his short time with us at the start of the tournament, Dan was a terrific, positive influence both on and off the field and we look forward to him playing a part in pushing us towards the play-offs as the regular season draws to a close."
On Friday, the Vipers take on Dubai Capitals in Dubai, and on Sunday, they play Sharjah Warriors in Abu Dhabi to wrap up the group stage. Warriors have played one more game than Vipers and are currently in fourth place, two points ahead of them.
Next Thursday is the start of the third Test between India and England in Rajkot.
